Window Regulator Repair
Is your car's power window "off track?"
Car Window Motor/Regulator Replacement
Most late model vehicles have electric power windows that utilize a motorized window regulator to operate the door glass up and down. If it is not functioning properly or seems to be off track, chances are the regulator has failed.
Over time, this motor can wear out and will require replacement. When this motor fails, it will usually give you some tell tale signs before it stops working.
If your window is moving up and down slower than usual, or is only operating intermittently, it’s more than likely a worn out window motor.
Eventually it will stop working altogether, and your window will be stuck in one position. On occasion, your car window motor can stop working without these symptoms.
Car Window Regulator Replacement
Inside a vehicle's door panel is mechanism referred to as the window regulator. The regulator attaches the motor or manual crank to the window. It is either a set of gears or series of cables and pulleys, depending on the vehicle. It acts as an elevator for the door glass. Over time these parts can fail due to everyday use or sustained damage. When the regulator goes bad, it is often accompanied by a loud noise (cable snapping), followed by the window falling inside the door panel.
